This past week, Brent Smith, CEO, was the keynote speaker of the Frederick Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet to discuss the new hospital construction.
Smith presented an overview of the new Frederick hospital which will be approximately 23,000 square feet and licensed as a critical access hospital.
The new facility will be built on the former hospital site with construction expecting to begin within the next month, pending final state and federal approvals.
Key features include:
- Five emergency rooms with direct EMS access and a helipad
- 10-bed, inpatient care unit for acute or skilled care
- Advanced diagnostic imaging, laboratory services, and physical therapy
- Modern infrastructure with backup generator power to ensure uninterrupted care during severe weather
Other improvements surrounding the hospital project include:
- New EMS facility across from the future hospital that will include training space, storm shelter, and indoor parking for up to eight ambulances
- Clinic expansion to accommodate four providers, with cardiology specialists already rotating through twice a month
