During Friday’s Heart Health Lunch & Learn, cardiologist Ahmed Elkaryoni, MD shared insights on aortic stenosis, a condition in which the aortic valve narrows and restricts blood flow from the heart to the body. Most commonly affecting older adults, the condition can lead to serious symptoms if left untreated.
Dr. Elkaryoni also discussed trans-catheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), a minimally invasive procedure he is bringing to Memorial Health System to expand advanced heart care in our community.
