We would like to welcome Tiberius Walker as the 2026 Comanche County’s New Year’s Baby! Tiberius Walker was in such a hurry to make an entrance that he forgot to look at the calendar.
Tiberius, who had been expected to arrive on Jan. 8, arrived instead at 5:10 Thursday morning to become the first baby born in 2026 in Comanche County. His travel plans were a surprise to his parents, Kaitlynn Faso and Cody Walker of Altus.
“I was just trying to go to bed after a long day,” Faso said, “but he had other plans” when labor began at 1:30 a.m.
“It was a very long drive,” Faso said of the 50-mile trip to Memorial Health in Lawton. Faso — also mother to a 4-year- old boy & a 15-month-old daughter — is originally from Nevada but moved to Altus five years ago to be near her parents. The couple planned to come to Lawton for delivery, but perhaps not so quickly. “I had my other two kids here,” Faso said. “I like the staff and the hospital.”
Tiberius — all 20 inches and 8 pounds and 3 ounces of him — was expecting a lot of company Thursday afternoon. His grandparents and siblings were expected to get acquainted.
One more surprise: His parents didn’t know whether he was a boy or girl until the moment of truth Thursday morning. Faso said they already had a boy and girl, so they decided to wait until the big day for the gender reveal!
